I just played through Doom’s demo and it is pretty fun. You’re right about the soundtrack. Although I should turn the gamma up way higher than it says I should. My eyes already hurt.
That seems to be the consensus. I really liked the last TR so as long as this sequel is more of the same I’d be happy, but people are saying that Doom is a capital-E Experience.
Noted.
Yeah, that’s what I hear. Maybe if my job interview goes well next week I’ll pick it up as a reward...
That was a pretty common thing in the 90s, marketing things like they made you part of some kind of counter-culture.
It’s either gonna be Witcher 3 (still on my first playthrough, on my way to Skellige) or if I have a moment of weakness, whatever game I buy on Steam. Probably Rise of the Tomb Raider or Doom.
“Straight’s” the operative term. While I was playing, I’d never go more than a few minutes before transitioning to a new scene (with new music). Giant overworld means you’ll have those transitions way less frequently.
I agree. Personally, I’ve never tried listening to a Zelda tune for 2 hours straight. Seems like it’d be a bit much.
I bet that Nintendo wants to avoid showing NX gameplay because that would mean revealing what the NX actually is. *grumble grumble*
There is, but it’s very minimal from what I’ve heard, at least in the overworld. From the E3 footage, the only constant background music I can hear is the Shrine music, but while that’s based on an earlier Zelda tune (Tail Cave from Link’s Awakening, I think?) it’s still much more ambient than what we’re used to in…
I’m partial to the theory that this takes place after Zelda II, but maybe the waters in WW’s timeline recede at some point, after which this game takes place?
Damn it, they work fast.
Here’s a different video of an extended gameplay demo, for folks who are interested.
I like the costume. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It looks like Guns of Icarus, but on the water. I think that the kind of gameplay GoI does is really unique and deserves to be explored more thoroughly, though, so I won’t complain.
Wow, that’s a really old build.
You don’t get it, man. If you die in the game, you die for real.
Lazer Team wants their suit back.
