I think that may now be my favorite gif ever.

I've always been more interested in increasingly-realistic physics, myself, but I think that's a pipe dream. We have a hard enough time understanding physics, much less replicating it.
Well yeah, I wasn't saying that they couldn't. The console/pc singularity is still miles off. All I'm saying is that all improvements in computer-generated graphics are slowing down as they're approaching a ceiling. PCs will reach it first, as expected. Consoles decades after. Things can only look so…
I'm not arguing the fact that PCs have and always will outperform consoles. It was never about that. I am disputing the idea that increased performance will always give returns proportional to the difference between.
No, I'm using consoles because they make a good benchmark. You do realize that consoles are just cheaper, inferior, very specialized computers, right? They work the same way. So when you get a machine, PC or console, that is this powerful, and you get another machine that is more powerful, and another, and another,…
There is no true scotsman.
The XB1 and PS4 are on modern hardware, no? So why aren't they comparable with what you say a modern PC is capable of?
But nothing that anybody's doing is groundbreaking these days. Almost all the progress we're getting these days is in small features like these.
Proof's in the pudding!
People say that, and it is partly true, but it's not as true as a lot of people think. If it were, then why are the graphical differences between the xbone/ps4 and the last generation not that great? The reasoning behind "Consoles holding graphics back" is that the consoles have been stuck with the same GPUs for…
Godrays are my favorite.
They can show up, if you're in a really shaded area, even with only a little dust.
Nah, the differences are all really subtle. Computer-generated graphics are starting to reach a plateau, you know.
You see, over the decades, Gamefreak has realized that level grinding isn't fun. As it is and always has been, all you have ever needed to beat an AI, from Youngster Joey to Champion Lance, was either a decently-leveled diverse team with a lot of coverage (not hard to put together, just tedious) or just one poke that…
And how many of those people play it, or have ever played a Pokemon title, for a challenge, rather than the joy of putting together a team that they like? Pokemon was never hard if you did a bit of grinding. Grinding isn't hard. It's just a chore. The exp. share, super training, etc. make it less tedious, making it…
No, it's not. The competitive poke scene has been a big reason why the franchise has stayed with us for so long, but a lot of the mechanics that players interested in it had to know were extremely arcane and obscure. What this, the exp. share and super training do is that they speed up those mechanics and processes,…
Good news is, EV training is soooo easy with the new Super Training. It's easy to use, tracks your progress, and lets you know when you've maxed out the EVs in a stat.
By that same line of reasoning, a good graphic novel/comic makes every panel have a purpose. My point still stands.
