Well it would probably be encrypted, and the OEM's bios update will surely know what to do. I really don't think this will be a major obstacle for any OEM. I hardly think it'll be an obstacle for pirates either, though!

var licenseKey = bios.Key.value();

You're not the only one! I think it's fantastic.

Huh, I've never "craved" any of these, except maybe for caffeine. I mean sure, most of these are tasty, but have I craved them? No. Again, except for the caffeine.

Huh, what...? Why would you want them to turn to ashes? If you don't like their products, don't buy them.

Also, trains NEED to be heavy to get enough grip with their wheels. Steel against steel doesn't provide much grip, as Top Gear demonstrated. Why not wheels made from other materials, you ask? Trains are really heavy, what with all that steel, so steel for the wheels is still your best, cost-effective bet. /logic loop

Thank you! I have such low (read: non-existent) interest in the olympics that I've kinda started to dislike them a bit. Ugh.

Insomnia isn't bad at all, but it is indeed a little like the black sheep of his films. When I started to watch it I was expecting something mind-bending in the style of Memento, which I watched moments earlier. So there I was, at the edge of my seat in suspense through most of the film, but it didn't pay off.

I'm all for the occasional Apple bashing, but why are people upset about this? The 30-pin connector is ancient! It's huge! And every Apple customer should be grateful that they got to use a standard this long.

Chrome for Mobile gave me the same feeling of revelation as Chrome did back in the day when I switched to it on desktop. Fantastic browser.

Well, I enjoyed the hell out of Fallout 3, so bring it on.

So, when can we see this in Photoshop? Can't wait to use Cat-Aware Fill.

Oh wow, I had the exact same reactions watching the keynote. Nexus Q just seems... useless. That's not how I party! The biggest selling point seems to be that "you can go over to your friends' and control what music they play". Letting everyone override everyone else WILL result in a clusterfuck of 10-second intros to

This was the very first thing that popped into my head! IMO one of the most awesome subtleties used in a movie for a plot twist ever. Hey, io9 writers, maybe make a list?

As soon as you mentioned "good old fashioned spies", this image was formed in my head, and is now the way I imagine this whole operation went down.

No no, they did. They said that with my supply nothing worked, with a spare one of theirs only fans were whirring, nothing else seemed to work. That's why they guessed other components might be faulty as well.

I bought a Logitech keyboard that has a button that should put the computer to sleep. BUT it doesn't work under windows 8, and by "doesn't work" I mean it breaks the whole computer. I accidentally pushed it once, and my computer went into some kind of limbo where the fans were whirring but nothing else seemed to work.

Well, what can you expect from a company with the name Apple and a logo that is an actual apple.

A perfect example of how Lost went wrong. No, I'm not talking about keeping Ben around, that was awesome. It was a spectacularly engaging show, kept the audience guessing, kept the twists coming, and all the time you assumed there was some masterminds behind it all, ready wrap it up with an awesome ending planned from

Hmm, sounds interesting, but looks too "polished". Polished in a bad way, like the Event and Flashforward. However, I will watch this, if only because of Giancarlo Esposito.
