look up James Risen.
Ha! I remember when Dick “The Dick” Cheney would feed Judy a column, then go on This Week and cite that very column as evidence of what ever ghoulish war mongering he was doing that week.
I’m pretty sure Bret Stephens permanently keeps a copy of Dinesh D’souza’s “masterpiece” Liberal Fascism on his bedside table.
I remember holding off on the Bush wiretapping as being the day I for sure lost any trust in the NYTimes to be a respectable paper. It was just “a newspaper” after that.
If I mentioned this to some of my family members they would immediately shoot back “Monica Lewinsky.” I would then try to explain to them, well if you didn’t like it then (20 years ago), why is it acceptable in the twice divorced wife cheater who is currently the president? Plus, Trump seems to sleeze his way through…
“Guys, he just said it was MORE sad that smart kids got shot. Obviously it’d still be PRETTY sad if dumb kids got shot, just like maybe 10% less sad.”
Life inside the closed system leads to brain worms.
Your Deadspin colleague David Roth is on the case (concerning Mr. Stevens):
You are missing nothing. McDougal/Trump was a consensual (and disgusting) relationship. It’s hard to imagine any person not having the awareness to know what a piece of human garbage Trump is. When I read that McDougal “was into his intelligence + charm.” I realized that at best, I should pity her cluelessness.
Trump has been terrible for decades. Maybe it’s because I grew up in NYC but this is why I’m still confused why the rest of the country couldn’t figure it out before the election.
This is the first sensible against emissions standards argument I’ve heard yet, thank you for enlightening the conversation and helping to progress in a civil manner.
This is a fantastic article. The analysis and illustrations are first rate. Thanks!

The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a…
I don’t get these law enforcement agencies. They’re constantly pushing for mass surveillance of US residents; Congress (Dems and Repubes) is always happy to oblige by throwing an ever-increasing amount of taxpayer money, no questions asked, at them (to “keep us safe”). Collect everything. Listen to everything. See…
I meaaaaan... this is fine? I feel like calling out Wendy’s in the original headlines was kinda shitty? Obviously the message was cut out fast food but Brown’s experience was tied to a nearby Wendy’s. So while it can be pointed out in the article that he stopped going to Wendy’s, calling them out in the headline makes…
When finally reached for comment, Wendy’s was notably frosty.
I was so prepared to shun Farrow as a princeling coasting on privilege, but hot damn if he isn’t getting the job done! He’ll end up with a Pulitzer, mark my words.
