Really? At least 80% of my teachers seemed very willing and able. The bad ones definitely stuck out and I could count them on one hand.

The only thing that will make a dent in air pollution from air travel in the US would be a trillion dollar buildout of highspeed rail (minimum 150 mph cruise) linking every major city coast-to-coast.

Schools being forced to reopen in October/November probably plays a huge role in the spiking cases but hardly anyone talks about it, beyond blindly dismissing it as a possible contributor.

Also, in these tests: are they compared to an adult dummy sitting in the exact configuration sans booster seat, and to a child also sans booster? Does the booster provide any benefit? Without any of that context this is just (more) reactionary pearl clutching, just like the zero star fear mongering from yesterday.

Inefficiency should always be a huge concern, especially with greener energy sources. What those sources are constructed of are very much not green and overconsuming those products has very real environmental effects.

Wait till they hear about all the sketchy shit done by/on Google and Facebook!

Its not ideologically coherent. Not if you accurately weigh the harm done by morality campaigns like this and FOSTA SESTA, keeping sex work in the dark, and keeping paying for sex work mostly under the table.

Totally depends on the marbling.

Real ID has always just been a scam.

You can kinda look at like there has been serious inflation of rich-people-shit this year. The Fed has absolutely poured money into the 1% resulting in all that money being used to wildly inflate all the stupid shit rich people like to own: paintings? through the roof, cool-kid stocks? blown up, crypto? its back up to

Isnt this also how you got Michael Jackson to sing for your daughter’s birthday?

The only real threat from fracking (other than it just generally being a part of the larger fossil fuel industry) is that it is easy for it to be used by private equity rapidly escalate production and inflate market bubbles. Fracking has been going on since the 70s, it only became an issue once PE started pouring

Kinja: What’s your reason not to change?

This is an awful idea.

“anticipated changes” is such a bunch of cowardly boardroom doublespeak.

Normie-ass genre TV.

What are the main ridiculous hurdles?

I live in CA and just have that stupid wall heater to heat our whole 100 year old house. But I would never ever give up gas. Despite having the worlds shittiest/most inefficient stove (thanks landlords) and having to replace the igniter on the dryer a few times.

Gas should be used for home/commercial food & water heating indefinitely. For one its more efficient at pure heating than electricity is. For another, when you need that option is typically when renewables would be the least reliable (mornings and evenings). Also, gas is much much more resistant to weather/natural

It only yields disaster when you are far too distracted by the wobbly steering/junk suspension/swiss cheese frame to notice your engine overheating.
