"Lazy" is the wrong word for that. As someone who does the occasional spot of drawing, I can tell you that making something simple look good takes at least as much skill as throwing down a ton of details.

In the Internet's defence, they kinda overplayed the "cartoony" aspect of the game in the debut trailer. The trailer makes it look far more like a Saturday morning cartoon tone-wise than the game turned out.

C isn't going to win, I can tell that much. It's by far the coolest design IMO, and a nice sorta opposite-end-of-the-spectrum companion to Beck. But one of the more cutesy designs is bound to get more votes.
