It's funny how you accept that kinda silly "dizzy" animation until it's played out like that, making you realize just HOW silly it looks. And there's a huge part of why this made me guffaw.

There's "save anywhere" and there's "quicksave". Me, I feel that the quicksave detracts from the experience of playing. When saving and reloading becomes an integral part of the experience, it becomes too much of a focus. The slightest foible, and you're reaching for the gaming equivalent of ctrl-Z.
