I nominate this comment right here, by myself. Yes, this one, the one you're reading right now.
Let's hope none of your bosses know your nametag on Kotaku!
Since Mass Effect 2 spoilers are likely to be out there a lot now that ME3 is out as well, I figured it's time to finally play the thing. However, before doing that, I finished up Outland... The last 3/4ths of the game in one go.
I'm completely and totally insulted by the insinuation that One Piece is full of nuts.
Yaaay Gunshow.
The "Walking Dead" TV show suffers from Anime filler syndrome. It's trying not to get caught up to the comic story too early, so it puts in fetch quest after fetch quest. HOW much of season 2 has been spent looking through that same damn forest for that little girl now?
There's one thing that seems to go unnoticed that I think is pretty cool: Even without the (sorta clunky-looking) portal stuff, this looks to be Super Mario Bros with a level editor.
If anyone WASN'T freaked out by the drowning music in Sonic as a kid, they either never played the game or they're lying.
That's actually very Terry Pratchett. That's a good thing.
I never really grinded, beyond running around doing missions in Gran Pulse, and that was an addiction of its own (and the reason why I spent about 60-70 hours on the game). The trick is figuring out how the upgrade system works (which I did without a guide, beyond peeking at how much it would take to upgrade certain…
Well, this is what the entire article is about, right? The point at which you decide that you've had enough, instead of bearing with a game you're not enjoying because it might get better later?
Really? Tastes really do differ... The battle system was what kept me going through some really insipid moments and too-long, repetitive corridor dungeons :)
Yes, but a lot of GBA games, especially the early ones, did the music through the GBC music chip... Presumably to save processing power before they really knew the system's ins and outs :)
Graphics too colorful to be an 8-bit game, yet 8-bit music... Ah! It's the GBA game!
I'm sorry, but Pac-Man totally has rapeface there.
Me, I like apples more than oranges.
First of all, the bit about seeing all of the game's "art" in the first five hours is a bit of a misquote. Here's the full paragraph:
Look more closely. Looks like you're still competing for stars. My guess is that the stars from the boss battles will be divided according to who got the most hits in.
The game doesn't change, beyond the increased freedom of choice you get in Gran Pulse. However, you are approaching that point. Ironically, some of the first quests you get in Gran Pulse have you traversing corridor areas you've already been through, so you kinda have to enjoy the battles to enjoy the game.
