@IvanDashSmith: Well, I dunno... The Mario games never really did the "quiet because it's YOU" thing, but more the "quiet because Mario doesn't talk" thing. Giving Mario lines at this point would just be... wrong, because (at least in the gaming world) he's never HAD lines.

The "silent protagonist" thing is, ironically, really hard to get right. The moment you start stepping out of bounds (the character talking or doing something really dumb), the illusion is broken, and you start to question why they didn't just give him/her a voice.

@khemphoud: My DS is getting wonky in a lot of small, but annoying ways. So rather than get a new DS, I'm getting a 3DS. It doesn't matter much to me whether or not the launch lineup is brilliant.

@Dante_Ravenkin: To me Demon's Souls was more of a "carefully creep forwards, observe, adapt, die, get a little further using earlier observations, adapt to new strategies" game.

@KingFaisal: Everyone has different experiences with the game. Yeah, there were exploits on almost every boss, but... Really, you looked up exploits to beat almost every boss?

That first picture is a mystery wrapped in a riddle etcetera. Did she just dare some guy to stab her butt, but then some other guy lying on the ground reached up and stabbed the other guy's hand? What was the guy on the ground doing there?

Portable Demon's Souls would be awesome. They'd have to offer some sort of quicksave thing, though... Maybe some safe rooms or something where you could pause the game properly.

@WolvenOne: From what I remember, you get a Gold Chocobo from beating him. Which was probably completely awesome for those without guides... Getting a Gold Chocobo requires an absolute crapton of work and experimenting, unless you know how to do it. Very much a Guide Dang It situation.
