@Denvori: Yeah, you still need to execute those flawless plans. And honestly, the in-game messages left by other players are far more fun to use than FAQs.

@Skunky: Dragon Quest 8 took me about 80-90 hours to get through thanks to this kinda thing.

Sheesh, lady. Look, I know you wanna help, but those Bread Knives don't have much attack power, and they're only worth something like 15G when sold. You're just cluttering up the inventory!

@Nozama: Nah, just the ones where the battle system *feels* the same. But yeah, Castlevania takes its inspiration from so many games, it's silly to point out just one.

@XForce: Not really. Okay, some of the entries (Forza, for instance) are dubious, but most of those are games where their blatant similarity to certain games were thrown at the forefront when they were released. This one just summarizes all that.

@wrackune: That's the intention with putting the S in front of TFU. If you were going to shorten the game's title properly, it'd be Star Wars: TFU. It's just become popular to call it STFU instead.

@Diamond Sea: Well, I didn't grind too terribly much. I just rarely skipped a fight as I ventured through dungeons. Having been smacked down harshly by the bastard twice, I went around exploring the countryside. By the time I'd covered the surrounding map, I had Midheal, and that was all I needed.

@Diamond Sea: Wait, I can? Mother of...! I thought that was the multiplayer option, what with the "Call up a friend" bit! Sheesh. Well, thanks!

@Diamond Sea: Not really. It's just a side story involving some pirates and stuff. It's cute, but by no means essential.

Okay, so I just beat the Ragin' Contagion in Dragon Quest 9, and got to the next part of the game (which I'm not going to spoil, no worries). And I'm STILL just a one-man party. I know the game wants you to play multiplayer, but, jeez. Give me SOME tactical options!

@Krackato-ATOMIC COLLIDER!: Phalanx is the one that made me snicker out loud. It's in the funny-because-it's-probably-true category.

@original_fehu: Yep, I know... As I mention on the boards themselves, I realized it after finishing the poster, but decided not to change it. "Insect" has a better ring than "Arachnid" :)

@vidhagans: I've played through 4 and 8, so yeah... The moment I saw 'Metal Slash' on one of the skill lists, I went straight for that. Now that I have it, I can start thinking of other skills.

So I was bored last night and decided to start playing Dragon Quest 9. Six hours later I had to force myself to put it down. It's a deeply traditional JRPG! Shouldn't be that addictive!

@wohdin: This one's actually more of an issue, considering that this is a videogame site. It's really, REALLY hard to test that in a store setting, though, beyond simply looking up reviews of the model online.

@yanipheonu: "Static and motion resolution Getting a little nerdier here, 'cause serious dorks evaluate this stuff with test signals, but ultimately, this is all about details. To check static resolution, try to count the number of hairs on somebody's head in a closeup, or a player's name on a jersey in a sports game.

@Nutlink: The trouble is that the RTS aspect, where you generally faff about confusedly and get frustrated at your units not behaving properly until you somehow win the battle anyway, takes up about half the game. Towards the end it's almost nothing but RTS battles. It's one of those games where you start just

@bakana: Hey, wait, you're right. My mistake!

@Tebasaki: Pauline's apparently Luigi's girlfriend these days. I guess she feels that she needs Mario's toys to keep the relationship alive, and now she's collateral damage.

@trunkenmath: I wouldn't say the English version is BETTER... It's just the one I've been accustomed to through the games :)
