I’ve stopped paying attention to PotG, and nearly stopped voting after the matches. PotG is limited by what the computer can pick out, which may not in any way be the best play of the game—or even a good one—and the voting is pointless.

I don’t. I have very few alarms, appointments or reminders in my life, and I never need to search for something and not need to read the results. IF I could get it to answer me, I might use it more. But until it can speak an answer to my search question, it’s just a gimmick.

No, that reasoning doesn’t hold up. If it is true that racism is institutionalized and inherent in society, then it follows that a person of color, if he or she has lived in that society, has been subject to that racism. Therefore, even without an in-depth personal interview, that statement is true.

Consider that perhaps they aren’t wasting their money—they just want to spend it on other things.

This is the thing I have to keep reminding my wife. We all look at other people assuming that they do everything we do, PLUS all the stuff they are doing better. This is (almost) never the case. So they might be going out every night—and carrying $10k in credit card debt. They might not have savings.

Another option is to have parties at your house. While this might seem wrong, consider that usually people will happily each bring something (food/booze/beverages) for everyone, and even if you buy booze (the most expensive thing people usually want) it’s a hell of a lot cheaper at home than at a bar.
