Not really. The two don't seem to be strongly connected. Having played the expo demo and the Beta, I can say that they're fairly different, gameplay-wise.

Can't wait for this. First run through, learn the ropes and any changes and find the weapon I'm comfortable with. Second run through, INVADE THE PISS OUT OF FUCKING EVERYONE. PREPARE TO DIE, BITCHES, OVER AND OVER AGAIN. What's that? You jut want to have fun and play the game? You picked the wrong game…

I really hope many people who feel like they are good at Dark Souls find that Dark Souls 2 doesn't give a sh*t about how good they thought they were and then rubs their hubris right in their naive little faces.

The entire game is the wrong neighborhood...

Building your own has the advantage of feeling like it's your box. It's hard to describe what that means.
