Agreed. It makes zero sense to leave that game out. It's more of a prequel to MvC than Marvel Super Heroes is.

I never got things all the way up either. I just assumed everything went to 9's.

Here's one for me.

Yeah, it must have changed. Today's post, and the update from June 26h, have it listed for 1200.

I just did some research, and it looks like the game is 1200 points, which is more like $15. That's a tad more reasonable, and a bit more in line with standard XBLA and PSN pricing for bigger games.

That's my reasoning. I hate how little a price difference there is between physical and retail for many games. I was livid when Xseed launched Unchained Blades for the PSP as download only for $30. It's understandable that a company would want to release a PSP game so late in the system's life-cycle as digital, to

Thank you!

Really? You post Boromir, and that picture, but you don't post "One does not simply walk into Nintendo HQ?" It would have been the most perfect joke for this article. Period.

Hahaha yeah. Having money helps. MrGilder of 4 years ago, who made good money, had ample savings, and wasn't hampered with student debt probably wouldn't have blinked at the price. I'm sure in terms of pure gameplay mileage, that's a fair enough cost. I just have a threshold in my head of what I believe XBLA/PSN

It's not abnormal for informative investigations to be funded by others. Funding is essentially the backbone of academia and scientific research.

You're not wrong at all. Everyone is one person, and everyone's mileage and understanding will vary. Alot of the problem stems from the way people are trying to use the new system like the old one; chiming in with little "oh I like this, this looks great" single-sentence comments, which this setup isn't designed to

Wow. Does it really cost that much? I'm going to have to wait too. I was very gung-ho about getting this, specifically to support the creator for giving the original version out as freeware (much in the same way I bought Cave Story for Wii). But that's a hard price to justify.

So whilst combing Spelunky's official website for information on how much it costs on XBLA, I stumbled across these beauties. Heart-breakingly awesome Spelunky random-packed minifigs. Give them all to me, please.

Yeah, "noticed." Everyone's experiences and mileage with the new system will vary. I, for one, have had some of the most thorough and satisfying conversations in my five-year long Kotaku career since the conversion happened. The new way in which your profile tracks your comments and replies, and allows you to

Yeah, it was freeware. This XBL version of Spelunky is sort of like the Wii version of Cave Story. Revamped graphics, same gameplay.

Little Jenova Synthesis in the cover image is making me extremely happy right now.

The old order dies. A new order rises.

I could ask for more too. Physical retail release please.

That makes sense. I'll fill their pockets with salve and potatoes. How can they resist?

I'd love it if there was an option to switch graphics so that you could play the original pixely style on your TV. That'd be fun. Either way, this is looking like a no-brainer purchase for me.
