Then again, does the fact that i don't identify myself by my bisexuality mean that bisexual as an identity is dead? I do identify as a gamer. Gaming a mainstay of how i spend the time i am actually in control of, and it's how i have made most of my friends. The argument that some arbitrary person can claim that

This is actually quite a good point. If we want to control the hate, the tools to do so need to be much more robust. I'd like to see more gaming communities do like Riot Games and Valve have been doing, picking out reputable members of the community to help moderate the community, thus both alleviating the manpower

This discussion is about hate speech, though. Whether hate speech aimed at the creators themselves, or hate speech aimed at their critics, both are despicable, and really what the open letter and this whole gaming-wide debate is about: The right to express yourself without getting derided and slurred for completely

You might as well not have posted this comment. Games are an artistic medium, and multi-billion dollar industry. It matters, and if we want both the art form and the community to mature, we need to take these discussions seriously. If you're going to sit in a corner andhowl "It doesn't matter to anyone!", that's fine,

I say crowdsource it. You've seen it with the tribunal in League of Legends. It doesn't take a professional to tell when someone is spewing hate speech, and if someone is repeatedly caught being mysogonistic, racist or homophobic, i absolutely believe the given community would be better off without them.

You do realise that game devs are not writing an open letter regarding hate speech aimed at themselves, but hate speech in the gaming community in general, right? As one of the important actors in the constellation of the gaming world, it's good to see them be a voice of civility in this vitriolic mess.

He's basically a cross between Chuck Norris and Crocodile Dundee.

This is going to be Revelations all over again: So many overpowered options for tackling every situation that it just becomes bloated and extremely easy. Neither this nor Unity has me in any sort of excitement before reviews come out.

I can't imagine a revival of Dead Space would return to being as brilliant as DS1 and 2. So i am happy that it went out. Not gracefully, Dead Space 3 was a shitshow, but at least more gracefully than whatever could have come next.

The addition of stealth and lack of special zombies kinda undermines it right there.

Probably won't be coming to PC. It's not enough of a walled garden for them to keep under control.

After i finished Mass Effect 3 recently, i wanted to write mister Hudson a mail and thank him for a wonderful series of experiences. To see him go makes me both sad, and excited to see what his next move will be. Hopefully it will be for all of the gaming world to enjoy.

Ah yes, what a beautiful change of pace; going from making original and platform-making games to rehashing the same damn thing over and over again. That moneybag must have been heavy.

Get them comped, naturally.

And in spite of all the old and glorious studios Activision has put down, either with the bulldozer of CoD or through some other franchise milking, it's still EA that gets all the stick for ruining studios.

No, i really don't think i want games to punish me for failing in them, because more often than not, i fail in a game because of a sudden difficulty spike, a bug or some other fuckup or inconsistency on the part of the game, rather than me just being bad. I don't want to be punished for the game's imperfections.

That is one drab colour pallette they're working with.

Oh brillaint, so now one of the best writer in gaming is going to be confined by the ten ton hammer of Star Wars canon on one hand, and EAs interference on the other. Way to squander talent!

Because any game company would have been less egregious than Facebook? Jim Sterling made the point too, that FB has a good reputation for letting its aquisitions (See Whatsapp and Instagram) operate as they always have. Quite the contrary with any game company you could possibly think of. (And don't say Valve, they

I second this. MasterRace, you are wrong. Carmack can go where he wants and do where he wants. Don't think he's wound up to say anything he doesn't want to.
