I expect that for at least the near term, the PC will thrive. Intel's plans to kill off the desktop PC by no longer manufacturing desktop socketed CPUs does not bode well for the future, though. Additionally, it heavily depends on the consoles. If they continue to be inferior in every way to the PC, the PC will

Brilliant! I have gone to my parents' in preparation for christmas, so i can participate in the event without actually doing anything!

"Spectacular showdown"? Did you play a different game to me? Because the Deathstroke bossfight i fought was a frustrating, repetitive and WAY too long session of landing two hits before going defensive, then repeating a hundred billion times.

Is EA releasing Battlefield 4 knowing what a complete technical wreck it is completely reprehensible? Absolutely.

Doing so would invalidate people who give a negative score on the basis of a broken game that they couldn't play. Something i think is totally valid.

Another difference. One of the two titles fills me with fond memories. The other makes me groan every time i see it. I hate Kojima.

Marvellous review, Kirk. It was an enjoyable read.

I use the name "Cross" everwhere i can, partially because it sounds cool, partially because it's a pun on my middle name, and partially because i often am cross. >:(

If i wanted to have my ears raped...

Provided Valve makes the streaming tech not-crap, something that is by no means a given, you just get the same performance you have always gotten off your PC. You're right it's a workaround, but if it works out right, it's a damn good one.

Except streaming. The point that more or less invalidates your complaints.

You are part of a shrinking part of the gaming world, i am sorry to inform you.

Most/all games that are on a non-Windows platform let you play them on whichever platform your choose if you own one version.

You clearly haven't read the article. The cheapest Steam Machines are basically just streaming conduits that allow you to use a controller interface and controller for wireless streaming of your PC games to your TV.

-.-

Well, first issue there would be BF4 being Origin exclusive and therefore not on Steam. If i am to stop being a pedantic tw*t, your assumption is more or less correct. Games need to support Linux to run natively on the Steam Machines, though valve has said they're going to unveil a bunch iof publishers they've

I've quite liked Rock, Paper, Shotguns extremely forward policy on the matter: "We don't have freedom of speech here. If we find your comment offensive, or just don't like it, it will be deleted."

Issue with that hypothesis: Given inflation, sticking money in a bank account earns you negative interest. PayPal is well aware of this.

I shake my head and look forward to the long promised retirement of this imbecile.

BAD SPOT.
