The other commercial has an older Chrysler mini-van. If I'm not mistaken, couldn't those be had with a turbo and a manual transmission? Maybe the kid just doesn't understand boost, and calls his dad a dork for sitting in the front seat with a laptop trying to get it tuned well enough to drop into the 11s.

The unfortunate thing is these stupid Toyota ads will probably never stop.

LOLWTF?!

@TheAntiCat: I honestly don't remember. It was 8 or 9 years ago when I was looking at it. I was young enough where paying attention to little details was overruled by the thought of "Holy crap an affordable sports car with a big block!"

The one I regret is a 1979 Pontiac Trans-am. It was all black with a 455. I'm sure it had issues, but for $750, I was ready to live with it. My Mom said no, so I passed on it. To this day I still want to get one.

Ugh. Yet more crap to make Detroit look bad to people who are not from around here.

I gotta send this to a friend of mine. He has a DeLorean and LOVES

@HighHeadBlues: Makes no sense to me. I think I need to move down to where people still have some sense, and are still able to be responsible for their actions.

@HighHeadBlues: I wish that was the case. Michigan is a no fault state. The chick that rear-ended me is not at fault for being dumb, and I'm not at fault for having been sitting there. That means our insurance companies shake hands, then bend us over.

Hey, look! A pig just flew past the window!

@OldSlowJetta: That's all great advice, and is greatly appreciated! I agree that it is complete BS for me to have to worry about any fallout from this person hitting me. It looks like it's on me to handle paying for my own rental and anything like that. Michigan law (according to the adjuster) prevents the insurance

@Clown Shoe Pilot: Also, thanks for explaining it. I've never had an accident before, so this is all new to me.

@Clown Shoe Pilot: I'll have to ask about this when I talk to the adjuster. As far as I know here in Michigan the other driver's insurance just covers my deductible, so I might be SOL.

Depreciation, eh? Never thought of that. Just got rear-ended yesterday in my 3 month old truck...
