The more I think about it, the less I’m enamored with the argument that automakers should sell cheap cars. Dealers do sell cheap cars: they’re used. Cars today are well built and designed to last over 150,000 miles (could argue over 200k) In the 70's or 80's this was not the case, where 100,000 miles was closer to the

Cars have reached a level of quality where buying a 3 year old mid range car is at least competitive with buying a new econobox.

Except that it’s $50k I really want one of these.

Exactly and a great example as well of another field where the employers are trying to drive down wages and then complain about employee shortages so they can bring in H1-Bs and drive down wages further.

Yup. I’m a highly paid IT engineer. I like to say I’m not overqualified for any job, as long as you’re willing to pay me to do it. I’ll sweep the floors or clean the bathrooms if you want me to, but I’m not gonna do it for less than my current salary.

Erik ShillingAnd please tell me exactly how many F1 races you () have done?

Yep. It was “the same cost as a regular roof! (If you stay here for the entire projected product life, it never incurs repair costs and electricity rates only go up. Also, we grossly overestimated the price of conventional roofing.)“
