Really what needs to be reported is power under the curve. I want to know an average output over the rev range, not just that one split second when it makes a big number. That would be a better indicator on how the cars’ power will actually feel.  Where that number is measured is of less importance, as long as

You have to give it to FCA, they offer almost all their models in at least 1 interesting color and usually several. I mean c’mon you can get an orange minivan.

My favorite small truck ever!

Not surprising based on the condition of the building, but hey at least I got a cool picture under it for the Detroit Gambler 500 a couple years ago.

Highlights are new frame, entirely new engine including block and heads, new turbo, new Borg Warner transfer case, new lighter axles, 8spd trans for Gas engine, upgraded Aisin trans for Diesel, leaf with Airbags for 3500 to improve ride, full safety suite(cameras, adaptive cruise, etc), 1500 style interior and 10db

Well we now know the engine is living up to BMW’s reputation for underrating. At 3400lbs and only 335hp I find the 4.1 second 0-60 unbelievable for a RWD car. I would bet it is making closer to the Euro spec Z4's 380hp, maybe more.

Go read the C&D article on the truck, they do a more thorough job of highlighting everything that is new. It is more than just a tune and a nose job.

Hey it is a Jeep so the doors should be off anyways. ;) It is unlikely that there will be anything besides the $2800 coming to owners. Unlike the VW’s the Jeeps and Rams have all of the emissions equipment required (particulate filters, urea system, etc), they just tuned it so it was only used a small percentage of

The big three will all tow around 30,000 lbs but only setup as a goose neck or 5th wheel. The reason you should limit towing capacity at the hitch is as simple as a teeter totter. If you put all that trailer tongue weight out past the rear wheels the axle ends up as fulcrum for a lever and you start losing weight

CANYONEROOOOO!

I agree, those C6R’s, C7R’s, and Corvette Daytona Prototypes were something to behold in person. The sound will never leave you.

I agree, it is just another “generic supercar sound”. I remember some years ago me and my father went to a Grand Am race. We had just arrived and were under the grand stands walking towards the track. Still unable to actually see the track when a corvette DP went by during practice. Just the sound alone gave me

I can’t tell you why they had to put a 90 degree bend in for the design, but I know that by mounting the mirror to the door instead of the flag they remove a wind noise trouble spot. Door mounted mirrors are almost always quieter than flag mounted ones since the mount is out of the way of the air and the front windows

I agree that step is actually a brilliant idea. Now if we could just get the team that thought of the side step to help the people in the design department maybe the truck would be better.

Only one problem, because of its long stroke this new L3B engine is actually quite tall. I have read a few engineering articles that went into detail that because this was designed specifically for the truck they had less worry on height restrictions. The possibility of it showing up in cars they stated was unlikely

I was about to say. The corsa is damn near a slick. I think they are rated at like an 80 treadwear, where as a cup 2 is 180 treadwear, not that the numbers really tell the story. What I am trying to say is that they are both super sticky.

I am glad someone beat me too it.  Conner avenue was just a more poorly lit version of this place.

I wonder if I can get one of these installed at my house. I have a neighbor who thinks my driveway is their driveway when I am at work. They apparently can’t drive and don’t stay on the driveway and I now have a yard with tire tracks and dead grass marks the width of a tire.

Ah project creep, a situation I am all too familiar with. My worst case was when I was going to change the shocks in my Miata. The shock bolts were rusted solid and broke. Next thing you know the car is completely stripped in a million pieces in the garage, because hey if you are already in there. 2 years later it was

This is an interesting article. When I first got my Audi and needed parts I always thought that “This is just how it is when dealing with older German cars” after buying parts from ECS Tuning. I soon discovered the better sources for parts. I haven’t ordered anything from them in years and when I did, it was always a
