Smith films, for about 20 years have been “if you’re a Smith fan you’ll probably like this”.
A few that popped up on my Twitter timeline were very positive, Empire gave it a solid 3/5 too, and they’ve been brutally honest with his films.
This is a rare negative review for the film, it seems to have actually landed with critics beyond those who are usually on side with his latter movies.
It amazes me people think the Royal Family serve any purpose other than to sell fat ignorant Americans plates and tea towels.
Looks fun, I’m excited to see it, seems like they’ve made the stakes a little higher than the previous show, which was part of its charm.

I think he does, sure he (his parents) were paid $200 for it on a small time band, you could argue the expectation was that the picture wouldn’t have that much reach, especially considering their previous album didn’t even chart.

I really like Dante’s films, I was at a festival in London way back when The Hole premiered, and I remember thinking at the time it was so nice to see that sort of film again.
