I think the downshift also triggers the 2-wheel flip servo as well. Incredible engineering, they are light years ahead of us!

Depends on the car, if it's my 220se they are only allowed to sit there and chat about their day. Don't touch shit, don't look at shit, don't ask for shit, you ain't gettin' shit. The Subaru however is pet friendly, food friendly, fart friendly (with windows lowered for courtesy) and belt buckle-scratch friendly too.…
True but West Covina or Torrance aren't the middle ground, a more accurate relation to those middle-income people who have money but not endless supplies of it would be the more modest residential Hancock Park area between Rossmore and LaBrea, Los Feliz by the Park or fountain, Santa Monica, some parts of Venice, etc.…
I have a nickel allergy but it really only manifests itself if I am in constant contact with the metal for a longer period of time than you would encounter using the mirror knob or a faucet. In fact I also choose nickel whenever given the chance because it looks so much nicer than chrome imho. If you were wearing a…
"That's unreal, because this is one of the worst accidents I've ever seen."
Right? I think Matt may be the Ryan Gosling of the group!
What's your favorite old (anything not currently in production) Mercedes-Benz and a quick word why?
SO down for this Torch! I saw a lovely '37 Lagonda Rapide last summer at a local concours with them activated, you should have seen the crowd gathered in stunned silence but clearly appreciating the novelty of it all. Don't you think there's just a hint of a Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang style transformation starting to…
Here in Oregon we have to stick our vehicles waaaaaaaay up in the trees so the bears don't get 'em. Case closed.
That would be a great review concept man! I'm not especially technically savvy so if you could do with GPS devices what you did with dashcams it would be very useful.
I still prefer the Bugatti Type 370 from Parmigiani Fleurier
I was falling in love with the sedan just as they were faltering. One of their most successful designs ever I'd say. But this... so wonderful (which makes it all the more sad).
I just reposted this story to Opposite Lock we did about Guillermo del Toro's sweet-ass ride made by his brother. Soooooooooo cool.
Next time you're in Portland, OR try the house-made catsup (their spelling) at Little Big Burger. It's branded as Camden's and is just the right amount of spicy goodness with chili added in. You can buy it in bottles at any of their burger joints around town. As quoted in that link I provided the local press…
Nah, Hoover Dam figure is smaller. :)
"And HOW!" should take care of every problem stain!
Portland has ticket machines set up at each row of parking spots that you pay parking fees and in return are issued a decal that you place on your inside window that shows the time your ticket is good until. Let's say you pay for three hours but only use one, well you just keep your decal and move on to the next…
Excellent work Matt, I'm tired of people giving bigots a free pass because of their age, social position, or some other abstract absurdity. Those attempting to play down his remarks by saying he's a relic of bygone eras are using arguments similar to the Kansas commissioner who used the term "nigger-rigging" then…
The column shift automatics are really more of a semi-auto since you really give the trans a workout to keep the revs high on the 220 cars. They are all great fun to drive.
Behind the XJ220 pic, is that maroon car a 4-door Camargue convertible??? Great way to make an oddball RR even odder (oddier, oddlier, oddestlier?).
