I work for a Japanese company and I can assure you that is not how it is in all companies. And that is quite an awful generalization that I often see when referring to any Eastern or Asian corporation.

Eh? I work for a pretty big 3rd party QA company, and we have cameras everywhere cept the bathroom. So thats not that impressive. But then again we work with sensitive gaming information that could hurt a company if it was released. The last two tho.. screw that.

Shitty iPhone ports of their old games and maybe a match 3 MGS game or something.

Slap the old IP names on their mobile trash, the brand recognition will boost sales.

Unless they’re planning on endless runners with their old IP as the generic runner or whatever ... if they’re seriously moving to all handheld gaming on iPhones and Android ... they really don’t need those titles anymore. To boost profit, they might as well sell the old IP to anyone who is interested.

Correct, that’s my “meta” point. I’d like to see Hideo land somewhere people want him and where he can do his crazy things. Be that Microsoft or somewhere else. Then this thriller/drama would be worth watching.

At this rate Hideo Kojima and other Konami staff would be much better off at practically almost any other publisher/developer if Konami is really doing this.

For the love of God. Then please give the Suikoden IP to Sony. This is what hurts me the most. Kojima will find a new place to make great games but Suikoden is a Konami hostage...
