She will play his most formidable adversary yet: a competent archaeologist.

Oh I can totally see her in the mold of Indy re: action movie franchise lead. Just not the kind of action movie franchise lead who does parkour, or kills scores of bad guys with brutal bone-crunching kali martial arts, or hangs off a helicopter skid while firing a 50 caliber machine gun. I’m thinking less Lara

I hope so too because she sure as hell better not be the love interest.

Oh okay so Afterlife is another film in the vein of Rise of Skywalker where they respond to fan backlash to a previous film by overcompensating with a movie drowning in fanwank.

So that “clip” actually was a straight up toy ad, as suspected.

Given the shitty paint job, are these Happy Meal “toys?”

We already have two classes of people though - people who can afford nutritious food and those who can’t (I think the meat/not meat distinction is not particularly relevant today, though I understand its classist cultural history). Not just monetarily afford, but also afford from a time and access perspective. I think

I have issues with regressive taxing that could essentially price animal protein out of the hands of lower income families. There are better ways to do it than an across the board tax. Heavier regulation, better slaughtering practices, pump dollars into the FDA for more inspections at meat packing plants and

Yeah, either that or reduce/eliminate the subsidies for animal agriculture. I think we’d need to couple this with making sure fresh vegetables/fruits and non-meat protein sources are available, accessible & affordable where they are not always right now. I’m of the (possibly naive) opinion that a lot of people don’t

First off, that wouldn’t work.

The trailer didn’t feel right to me and when I asked Jeeves I was expecting this doc to be industry funded. I just guessed the wrong industry.

This movie looks so uninspired.

Even better that Tyrion’s argument boiled down to trying to convince everyone that BRAN of all people had the most compelling story arc out of any character.  “Yes, there’s nothing more powerful than a good story. I mean, look at me: I was the former Hand of the King who was betrayed by my own family, put on trial for

I honestly doubt GRRM will ever finish those books, not that I begrudge him his success. Fantasy/SF is not a super-remunerative genre. If he wants to build a goddamn railroad in his state, then more power to him.

Still can’t believe one of the most popular shows in TV history concluded with maybe the power of storytelling should sit on the Iron Throne and then vanished from the cultural zeitgeist immediately afterwards.

Mark my words: if (and BIG if) GRRM finishes the next two books by 2025 or thereabouts, there’s going to be a #releasetherealseasons7and8 movement. And HBO Max will probably oblige them.

It’s probably cause Godzilla’s breath isn’t very pleasent cause of all that nuclear stuff being thrown up all the time, and Kong doesn’t really keep mints or gum nearby.

No, they just have no clue how to write a good cohesive Godzilla/Monster story. Godzilla: King of the Monsters was exactly the same- amazing fight scenes, nonsensical and stupid human plot. The Godzilla from 2014? had a decent story but barely featured Godzilla for a majority of the movie.

Which is weird since investing now into renweable resources will make them billions in the future.

But oil execs never think about the far future.

They’re fine with destroying the entire planet as long as they make money.
