So much money in this country, and 90% of it goes to the very few and for amoral reasons.

$2.8M is a nice golden parachute. Especially as he didn’t make it 2 years in the role. It’s a bit of a pay cut from the $2.0M made in fiscal year 2019 (thru June 2020) as those stock awards were goaled when the stock was $10/share so the awards are 4-5x higher making his true comp in the $3M+ range.

Or she got older and started asking for what she needed and is slowly discovering that she is dating a selfish, repressed jerk.

I see you’ve never slept with a straight man.

I’m not sure how true that is of women in any functional way more than *people*. Lots of people might lose interest in a partner they’ve been with for four years, not just women. I especially don’t think it’s very true of younger women, who genuinely seem both freer to engage with their sexuality than generations

Her aunt is probably just as devastated with grief, so before telling her to fuck off, she should probably begin with, “look, I know you’re overcome with grief and it’s causing you to lash out in ways you probably wouldn’t otherwise, but would you please FUCK OFF?”

Look at Nintendo, the Switch is a device and many people buy it. If you want to purchase a game from the Switch, you may do so from the Nintendo Store. Or, you can buy from Best Buy. Or you can buy games from Amazon. Or Target. Or Walmart. Or any number of other middle-man suppliers.

“I hate Playstation’s walled garden, I should be able to sideload Halo!”

“Apple doesn’t go out of their way to tell their customers about walled gardens or how they work.”

But let me guess, you’d think the situation would be so much better if Nintendo decided to stop all of that, and going forward make the Nintendo Store the sole source of games for Nintendo, am I right?”

Apple effectively does own a monopoly on platforms that run it, it’s not like there are any actual alternatives to the Apple Store that customers can use, nor can you easily sideload apps.

They made both the hardware and software and I don’t see a reason why they have to do a thing they don’t want to do with it. I hate apples walled garden so I switched, and maybe if some dumb game is so important then people should switch to another platform . But saying that you can create all aspects of a thing with

Apple has a monopoly on iOS the same way Sony has a monopoly on their Playstation hardware. That’s not illegal, and if you don’t like Apple’s approach, you can continue not buying Apple products.

I think Nintendo should be sued for only having Mario titles on their systems. It’s an unfair monopoly with a paygate that prevents me from having it any way I want.

But people walk into that wall garden freely. Hell, they skip with a smile on their faces.

And that’s unfortunate, but Apple doesn’t own a monopoly on platforms that can run it and it’s squarely on Epic for getting the game removed. I’m not much of an Apple fan or apologist, but I don't seem them at fault here.

I wonder too. It’s also why I don’t get the anticompetitive argument. There are games exclusive to both PlayStation and XBox. We don’t get to side load games when we don’t like what games are offered on the platform.

Apple and Google mobile devices aren’t the only places you can play Fortnite. There are so many other places to play these games. I really don’t understand the anti-competitive argument when you can easily play the game on literally anything else.

Muppet Treasure Island is my favorite Muppet movie and I think it might be one of the best pirate movies ever.

This is my favorite Muppet movie, for many reasons. I liked how Long John Silver (played by Professional Pirate Tim Curry) valued his friendship with Jim Hawkins enough to spare his life. I love the running joke of the tavern owner being able to hear a pin drop (“How does she bloody DO that?!*). I love Billy
