There is no "Whiteness" inherent in Kingpin's character and origin. He's a huge scary and extremely smart criminal from the slums of NY. What's important in the character is he believably a New Yorker, is he enormous and powerfully strong, is he smart? Clarke Duncan fit the bill. So no problem casting a Black actor.

Craig and Brosnan in 1 and 2. I just really needed a Bond who was plausibly an actually scary killer and these two delivered.
