I wouldn’t say they defected. If anything, the best minds from the now-defunct Audi team were transferred to the Porsche team. It’d be a brilliant move by VAG to consolidate talent in such a manner.
Considering both Bugatti and Porsche are owned by VAG, it’s very likely that’s the same rig.
