Yep. MS will not give up on Japan, because doing so means conceding an entire market to Sony/Ninty, giving up mindshare and becoming irrelevant in one of the most heavily electronics focused countries of the world (not that they're all that relevant now, but people at least know the name 'XBox').

If you inspect closely, the stories are really not much to gawk at. They're just templates for endearing character interactions (which are the real draw of Fire Emblem, aside from the combat)

They did patch up 1.0, but decided to scrap the whole thing and start over about midway through.

the old director was terrible. the new one knows the mmo genre, having played it for years. He's transparent with the fans and communicates with them regularly. The difference is like night and day. It may not be your cup of tea, but it holds a much better chance this time around than before.

They announced sure, but it's been what, over a year and a half for what basically amounts to an entirely new game? That's pretty par for course, if not a bit fast. Were you expecting all of this change to come about in a few months? It releases by June, they're pretty much on schedule.
