There ended up being 3 fatalities reported. A police officer and two others who have not been identified. :( Hard day here.

The suspect has been detained, according to the locals who listen to the police scanners and KKTV.

I’m surprised this hasn’t happened here before. Colorado Springs is a weird combination of military, evangelicals and pseudo-libertarians.

It’s a happy correction. We are on pins and needles here waiting to find out if there are any deaths. I live pretty close to this place, and I am sure I know people who are trapped in lock down at the grocery store over there. :-(

Some of it is also that Colorado Springs biggest business and employer is the military. We have many bases and posts - the language here is super-militarized. So that’s part of it.

I believe the shooter is in the PP building, as are some police officers. Maybe a hostage situation. (I’m in Colorado Springs, and this area is a shopping center with a street that separates it from the PP - it’s on my route to everywhere else.). Four officers have been injured, but no word if anyone was killed yet.

He is insane. Period.

When my daughter was about 6, she clipped one of those tiny hair clips with the pointy teeth to her lip. Then, of course, became incapacitated by fear and pain. She’s 20 now and we still tease her about it.

Maybe notmyhair should ask his or her wife whether or not it’s patronizing.

Ohmygod, do you remember the movie Tess of the D’eurbervilles? She baptized her dead baby and the horrible priest said it didn’t matter? Illigitimate baby conceived by rape still goes to Purgatory or Limbo or wherever that wasn’t heaven, which is all the poor woman was hoping for.
