The first part, about unscheduled sick days counting against you, is the norm at every single company I've ever worked at. X amount of "occurances" and you get written up (which means you aren't eligible for any transitions/promotions/bonuses) and one more occurance and you are fired.

It was my favorite last year, too. Though it makes me think about how half naked men are portrayed so differently in media than half naked women are portrayed. Which made me sad. Then I just rewound the DVR and I was happy again.
