Great! Days Gone is fucking fantastic, especially once you get past the very beginning. A really great narrative game, and the zombie hordes in it are something else.

Fantastic news. I was literally griping about this yesterday, along with my apparently urgent need for their Turbo Duo remake console. :)
As someone who’s had both a Quest 1 and a Quest 2, this is a really good deal. The thing works like a fantastic standalone headset and the recent addition of the Oculus App Lab means you get a lot more choice into (easily) adding games to your quest.
You can also use the thing as a great, fully featured VR HMD for your…

I’m psyched. Been wanting to replay for awhile, and it’s a fun game. The music is incredible, amongst other things.
It’ll be more interesting since they let you use a pro controller and avoid the motion controller.
I’m glad he’s gone. My parents thought he was terrible, but I was still exposed to him in car radios on so on.
This is the guy who called Chelsea Clinton “The White House Dog” on his national program because he thought bullying and attacking a thirteen year old girl and calling her ugly was fun and might make him some…
Bowser’s Fury is a crap co-op game, but we’re enjoying it nonetheless.
It’s sort of like Odyssey or Galaxy, where the 2nd player basically just lets the first player have an easier time. I use this while playing with my daughters so I can go after the enemies they have a hard time with, or so they can help each other…
I think this (video game rejection) is more common that we think it is, mostly because it’s not a large deal in the game. In many games, your character gets shot down but there really isn’t much time spent on it, so it’s not really a huge deal. We almost NEVER get a plot where you spend significant time on someone and…
That scene hurt, as someone who enthusiastically went with Triss. Yen put herself out there in a major way, and you just sort of have to nicely say no and then watch her deal with it. Ouch.
But as others noted, it’s not the love interest rejecting YOU. This does happen a lot in games, but it’s not usually a huge deal…
Right there with you on both things. Tired of the cynical “everything is terrible” snark, and enjoyed Cyberpunk quite a bit (though I’m waiting to finish it)
Right there with you. It’s not even a “snark” thing, it’s just incredible cynicism and usually without the expertise to back it up. Half the time they’re being cynical about stuff that isn’t a problem if you aren’t determined to make it one.
I’m a big fan of the writers like Fahey that don’t do this. I’ll read just…
That’s fine.
Crowdfunding isn’t just for funding. It gives creators a good way to gauge interest, get public involvement, roll out changes over time, or provide alternate SKUs and additional cool add-ons that people normally don’t get.
CDPR could finance the game all by themselves. But they’re not. They’re not a board…
Excellent. This is their best adventure game - it’s well written and really clever, managing to hit a lot of emotional beats as the game goes on.
I have several friends who hate borderlands who really love this game.
Oh. My. God.
This is so perfect. Just... yeah. If I could send you a finder’s fee, I would.
This is true, but Bravely Default had this great option to be able to adjust your enconter rate in real time. Want to grind? Then double the encounter rate. Want to get through a dungeon or are low on HP and want to get out? Set the encounter rate to zero.
I’m fine with moving to a “you can see the enemies” model, but…
They just nailed the music so well in Ys VIII. And the farther I get into Ys IX, the more I’m appreciating it there too. Nothing quite so excellent as these yet, but several of the dungeons and exploration tracks are just fantastic.
I think they did a fair amount right: Large areas, good combat. Very interesting setup (mostly alone in a hostile galaxy with a bunch of fractured allies), and an emphasis on non-violence by the Pathfinder that I thought was just really interesting. I liked most of the party members and other characters. I also thought…
It hit PS4 last week, yeah. The PC/Switch versions will be out in another couple months.
Which is too bad, because I actually really liked Anthem! It was fun, and the later side missions had some great world-building in them. But the last third of so of the campaign was just dumb and unexplained, and it very clearly was leading up to something which just... never happened.
But yeah, the Heavy Armor javelin…
That said, Andromeda had some fairly major issues (the villains were just lame, amongst other things) but it really didn’t deserve the hate it got. If you ignore the awful filler sidequests the game is pretty great, and I’m sad they didn’t get rid of that shit and actually follow through with the interesting stuff,…
They did the same thing with Ashley and it bugged the crap out of me. In ME1 and 2 she’s a soldier. In the 3rd she’s a fashion model with weirdly glossy lipstick and impractical hair. No bueno.
