“We are fucked”
Go low, ho higher, it’s all delaying the inevitable.
I mean... I could almost buy that story, that she was blindsided and froze but those photos are just too provocative. I guess she could have taken them to “normalize” the experience but that is a stretch.
Not to mention this defense kind of pisses on the movement she helped kick off. Fortunately, I think the reaction is well past critical mass at this point; #metoo is not particularly dependent upon her. It’s still a dick move, though.
That's the part that really disgusts me. She knew this kid when he was just a little boy, not a teen or a tween, a literal young child.
this person he’s known since he was 12,
The fact that people have honestly tried to sell that narrative is so sickening to me.
Also, she was sexually assaulted so she took braggy pictures of herself naked in bed with him and posted them on social media?
He assaulted her... but she paid him hush money? How does that work?
Oh, it was all Anthony’s idea remember.
very confused about asia, was she sexually assaulted by someone underage so she therefore had to pay him off? what.
How could Kanye be bad for the brand of someone who got famous from a sex tape?
This all drives me nuts. I was sexually assaulted and a man remains in prison. Do you know how he was convicted? On my freaking testimony. It’s not uncommon for someone to be convicted on witness testimony! Ugh. People. PLus this isn’t a trial- his life will go one without bein on the Supreme Court A life much better…
This is a good take on the author’s banal point. Democracy is messy and hard because our country is full of good and bad people struggling for dominance. It’s unjust that the marginalized have to suffer on the front lines, but what’s a viable alternative approach? A coup? Terrorism?
“Change should not demand the bodies of women. It should not demand our sacrifice or our pain.”
Change should not demand the bodies of women. It should not demand our sacrifice or our pain. But I think it will.
Mitchell’s report/memo is interesting. Anyone read it?
Maybe their hearts are in the right place but this is not gonna change anything. What people are forgetting are women can be pieces of shit as well. It’s not exclusively a male trait. See: Trumpettes
As a Californian, I still feel like we should secede. Our values as a state are in direct opposition to the rest of the country. Our system of governance is designed to disenfranchise us, to make our votes irrelevant. We should get out.
