I can believe it.  I can go a about 1.5 miles in any direction and hit up a FD or DG, or both. The closest Wal Mart is about 5 miles one way, 6 in the other direction.  The part of Houston I’m in has public transit but it doesn’t appear to be very convenient.  So, I totally see how those stores would be the only way…

Houston tried to give it a go with releasing inmates.  HOWEVER....the first wave included several violent offenders, a couple repeat offenders.  Was it that hard to find the softball cases to release?!?
