The Bernie amendment wouldn’t have actually changed anything, it was just for show, like most of what Bernie does. Impugning Booker over not voting for it is facile.

Not to mention that the amendment was a Bernie vanity show that wouldn’t have actually done anything at all, but who needs to deal in details? Burn him!

Isn’t the guy with the BLM sign white?

Really? My first thought was that even eight people can make a difference.

Donald is a joke, not we the people. We’re standing up to him, I like to think people are seeing that.

No path from his brain to his mouth, nice.

You work too much.

I think Roberts, in particular, is probably not a huge fan.

I love how Rudy’s gleeful recounting of his return to relevance was used as evidence.

That may have something to do with the fact that Obama chose qualified applicants. That’s not as much of a story as idiot who has no idea what he’s doing nominates the worst possible person for the position.

I think you’re going to find a lot to admire about Obama. There’s a reason we love him so much (even if many of us disagreed with some of his more aggressive foreign policy), I trusted, implicitly, that he understood things deeply and always acted in good faith, making the call that he believed would be best for the

I don’t think you need to apologize, you’ve been engaging in good faith, it’s no fault of yours that certain trolls ape good faith before becoming infuriating!

The GOP didn’t go full bore obstructionist, that’s just how it’s remembered. They largely voted for Obama’s cabinet nominees with much less fuss. The Tea Party et al chose their battles based on visibility with much success, this is literally out of their playbook, dialed up to 11.

I’ll take you at your word, some of your comments sound like a particular breed of troll that roam these parts, but they keep arguing no matter what, whereas you do seem open minded.

I agree with this, with an important caveat: charity is not a permanent solution, the government is much better equipped to identify how to equitably help those in need, provided it’s actually being run by good actors.

Honestly, almost as big a part of me wants to say fuck it and go back as the part that wants to stay and fight. The home country’s doing a fair bit better these days (yay democracy, boo dictatorships), if not super great.

I can just see him rolling an Easter egg with aplomb.

And really, the only way to be rid of it is for a Republican FLOTUS to do it, because you know they would howl about a Democratic FLOTUS daring to break with tradition.

It does seem like a poor financial decision.

Truer words. Truer words.
