I am so SICK of people telling me how to parent.

So are saying that you CAN’T leave a baby on the side of the road? What if that baby was like being really offensive and told you to let them out and was like cursing?

Sealed shut for security reasons? What, did they contained portals to the netherverse or something? Betting it was some Columbine overreaction when schools adopted no backpacks, transparent book bags and no trenchcoats.

Thank you for the link. Ms. Smart is very right on, especially in this example, explaining how the concept of “sexual purity” factored into her decision not to run-

I haven’t read it (yet) but is Holly’s tome just a slambook for her exes? An Ex-pose?

Now playing

Can you vote? Black people are more likely to be incarcerated because of the racist system which is designed to use inmates as a form of slaver labor and take away there voting rights. Also elderly Black people are more likely to be effected by vote registration laws.

“Hey it could be worse” seems to be the American answer to any complaint that POC have about this country.

Don’t forget

This is a crappy attitude to have. You have no idea about how other people experience being Americans. It’s not cool to dismiss shit like that by saying “Hey it could be worse!”

1) Yes you can try and vote, but with the supreme court getting rid of key part of voting right act that has made it harder, also with strict ID laws and gerrymandering.

I’m American Indian. Yes, I have those rights that you listed but my people didn't become U.S. citizens until around the 1920s or 1930s. We have a very complicated relationship with the government. Am I proud to be an American? Sometimes I am but other times I'm not. I imagine other people who experienced opposition

You might consider adding some avocados.

Right. Or, conversely, not teaching them heterosexuality. When you grow up in the 1980s, your formative years include these instructions of heterosexuality—how to date people, what to say to them, how not to pull their hair, etc. So invariably, if you’re a boy, you’re picking girlfriends and making out with girls. If

I didn’t intend to imply that he couldn’t know his sexuality; I was more interested in whether his sexual maturity was precocious or about normal. I thought he looked a lot younger than I did when I would’ve been willing to call myself asexual. The truth is, I was confused, and I think being genuinely confused about

I wasn’t skeptical of him. Just honestly wondering how common it is. I definitely think it’s more emotionally healthy. I think, at an early age, I was sold on some pretty convincing notions of normative heterosexuality and romanticism that I just went along with. I didn’t really understand my sexuality until, like, 15

Well, I had some idea I was different by the time I was in first or second grade. I didn’t know what ‘gay’ was at that point, but I knew I liked boys and not girls.

I asked girls out when I was in elementary school, but I don’t remember feeling anything resembling attraction. More like a curiosity to try out the girlfriend/boyfriend thing. I’ve gotten a few responses from people whose heterosexuality took very little time to present, so I’m supposing I was a late bloomer, is all?

I’m hoping, from the last spark of hope I have left burning inside my cynical hull- that it can be BOTH what she actually believes AND a calculated political move. That being a decent human and supporting people is finally coming back to the fore front of what we want from our leaders. The calculated move is to

Hi Alexis, as someone who grew up in Sonoma county, and now lives in the Sierra mountains, I found your piece a little silly. There’s drug addicts and weirdos everywhere in the world; I hope you figure out how to live your life without being constantly afraid of them.
