I’ve been on a few trips in my life where we’ve either been asked for our weights ahead of time or actually weighed at the airport. These are always on little planes where a difference of 50 pounds matters and frankly, I’m happy to jump on a scale if that’s helping to keep my plane in the air.

Interestingly, civil rights fee-shifting statues typically only work one way: so if you sue the state for a civil rights violation and win, you get to recoup your fees. If you lose, you pay your own lawyers but the state can’t come after you for their fees to defend the case. This is in place to (1) incentivize state

I work with people like this and I can tell you that it often feels very self-absorbed to me: I’m trying to deal with a problem and they’re taking that disagreement personally. What could have been a neutral difference of opinion that we resolve in a collaborative way suddenly becomes a minefield of feelings when one

Hey, hey - no need to use the fuck word!

I’m about two more emails from telling a client that I’m going to have to impose a “dingus tax” if they want me to keep working with one of their staff members.

Maybe that’s not sad? Maybe we’re maturing as a culture and raising our expectations.

I use a really heavy conditioner year-round (this one) and a few squirts of the Josie Maran argan oil hair product on the ends while wet. And I put real silk covers on the pillows that I sleep on. When I’m in cold weather, I often wrap it up in a silk scarf at night too. I also use a fancy hairbrush (the full-size

My hair is about waist-length now. I never blow dry and only wash my hair about 2-3 times a week. I also make sure to put it up when I’m working out or anywhere windy.

Uh, I think you own TWO $40 cow creamers.

I had a really weird conversation with a now ex (I’m white, he was Indian) about whether I’ve ever had sex with a black guy. Before I could tell him that the question felt really gross to me and I didn’t want to answer even though I normally would have told him anything - though he’d never asked any other detailed sex

I realize that this is not everyone’s defense (and it’s barely mine) but I’m actually slightly crosseyed (and everyone but my eye doctor swears it isn’t noticeable). This only causes me problems in that it messes just so slightly with my depth perception. I notice it most when I’m driving - especially parallel

This is super helpful with less tech savvy people who otherwise end up creating multiple versions in several places of what was supposed to be a single shared document.

The artist is quoted as saying, “we’re living in a society of very complicated systems that create advantages for white people, and disadvantages for others. That’s what my work is about.” You know, like cultural systems where people display recreations of your dead child.

She asked that it be covered while she attends. And his father thinks it’s disgusting.

Maybe you could also include a link to the statement from this actual real person’s father?

Totally, I don’t know if I’d be into it if I didn’t work a flexible schedule. I especially like that I can go to the really primo classes at weird times and they aren’t crowded.

I’ve been a ClassPass member for about three months now and I totally love it. I go to classes about 2-3 times per week and most of the classes are $20-30 each (if I bought them as singles). I definitely think I’m getting my money’s worth and 95% of my experiences have been very positive.
