Haha, once I saw the old headline (it's still in the url), my first thought was, "Sorry, ma, if you want to talk to me in 2013, you'd better sign up for twitter!"

I can't believe you and I are apparently the only ones to notice this so far.

I think she nails the tone — it's very clear the writer was catching herself having taken bikini barista culture for granted. And, I don't know about you, but at least once a month, I have a social justice "surprise" moment, in which I realize something I've been taking for granted is deeply, horribly wrong. And, when

Can you imagine if she was in a rom com where Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch were fighting for her affections? And then they all decided, "Hey, let's resolve this by having a threesome!"

Came here to make sure someone had said exactly that. (Though I would also count "Four words and a symbol.") Doesn't PBS know how pedantic their audience is?!

You're talking to the wrong girl, re: Sway. I'm black (but culturally pretty "oreo") and I have NO idea who Sway is. Not even with the hat. ;-)

Why does SNL still have to be an hour and a half "live" show? Why are the sketches soooo looooong? I laughed up until B'Lossom, chuckled at the Rick Rossetubby, and then I was over it, but the sketch kept on going. This concept could have been so much funnier without the unnecessary Sway intro, divided up into clips

Right?! I was like, "Wait, is Bradley Cooper my real dad?" (This joke only works if you know I'm black.)

I think it's time for Edith to have her happy ending. I know Fellowes just wants to keep the drama going, but considering the royal family of England had recently changed their last name because they hated Germany so much, I think a "happy" ending in which Edith and Michael and their baby decamp for Germany during hte

Not interspersed with opera singing. I get that it was supposed to make a point about how rape can be an "invisible" crime, but Fellowes clearly doesn't understand what that means.

I thought the way it was shot was incredibly exploitative. It was so badly and gratuitously done. I didn't watch again for several weeks after that episode, until people started saying the "fallout" improved the plotline, bringing up actual issues of shame and fear as would have been common (and still are).

Sooo... ya'll didn't watch when it aired in the UK, huh?

Totally agreed. I decamped all the way to Jersey City for a nice 1 bedroom in a nice neighborhood I could afford (and, it turns out, I loved it there. I KNOW!)

Haha, I lived in Bushwick before it was cool ;) No really, I lived in those hellish McKibben lofts in 2004 (pre-bedbug infestation, whew!).

Exactly. What's weird to me is, I know a bunch of those privileged asshole girls that are the type of girl Girls depicts, and they all interact with nonwhite people all the frickin' time — and not just as waitresses and nannies.

That's been the eternal question of TGW for the past two years. :(

Really? I had to stop 2 episodes in because I was afraid House of Lies would ruin my crush on Don Cheadle forever. (Not to mention my crushes on Jean Ralphio and Veronica Mars.) Does it get better?

Why? Sorry this question seems trolly, but genuinely, I'm curious to know why it bugs you? (nb: I may be biased because I had this really intense dream one time where I was married to Idris, and pregnant to boot, and it was amazing.)

Argh, wrong re:

As long as there's a theme, Avery Brooks is now 65.
