@brida: I have it on good authority that the writers do, in fact, know what the heck is going on in this game. =)

@Jindrich Schelfhout: Nope, but that doesn't mean we won't ever get into that. We'll have to see how that goes.
@Andrew Freedman: I can't tell you whether the Dark Presence is still there, but yes, there's more to it than we've told this far. It's very alien, and it just doesn't think or act the way we do. In that sense, I guess you could liken it more to one of the Great Old Ones from H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos than a…
@Kolian: Correct. The Barbara Jagger we see isn't Barbara Jagger, it's just a shell the Dark Presence uses.
@foxhound34: There's more about Nightingale in The Alan Wake Files, the book that comes with the LCE version of the game — it won't answer all of your questions, but you'll definitely get a lot of context to his actions. There's quite a bit of backstory to that guy, and hopefully we'll get a chance to delve a little…
@QualityJeverage: I can't really talk too much about the DLC yet, unfortunately, but I can tell you that I would be extremely surprised if we didn't use the episodic structure in the future. It made a lot of the storytelling much easier for us.
@timmy166: Neither. They are an interlude of sorts, I guess is the best way to call it. "Season one" is now complete.
@Arnheim: I'm trying very hard to give a meaningful answer without giving an answer I shouldn't give, if you know what I mean.
@foxhound34: Well, THAT is something where we're definitely setting up things for the future. =)
Let me say something that I've been lately saying a lot, because it really sums up the way we feel about the ending: if our offices were wiped off the face of the planet in a freak accident and there was never another Alan Wake game in any shape or form, that ending would work just fine. I'm not saying it resolves…
@Brian Crecente: It was foreshadowing, definitely, but not JUST foreshadowing. You could call it a moment of clarity for Wake.
Hey guys,
@Austin Walker: Well, I'm certainly not going to pretend that there are no horror elements in Alan Wake! We do borrow from the horror toolset every once in a while, sure. But that just isnt' where our focus is. (We also borrow from the comedy toolset when it suits us, among others.)
@Cofi: Yeah, I think it's easy to feel at least a bit of sympathy for Cynthia. She's had a pretty hard life, all things considered. No vacation days for her... ever. She's always on the clock, and it's probably fair to say that as far as jobs go, it's not the greatest one in the world. You'd probably be a little nuts…
@Austin Walker: Those are very fair points, I think, but let me just reiterate that we don't really consider Alan Wake to be a horror game. Yeah, some people do get scared playing it, and we do have the occasional scare in there to keep things fun, but it's not something we necessarily try to achieve as an overall…
@Teira: We like to refer to the DLC packs as "specials", just to differentiate them from "season one" of Alan Wake. It's an attempt to keep people from getting too confused about that... we'll see how that goes, people are generally very good at getting confused! =)
@Austin Walker: Oh, yeah, absolutely. We try to get as much of it in as we can, it's really important to us. I can't lie, it can be a kind of hard on your ego at times, but of course you're never gonna please all the people all the time... Obviously, I am very, very pleased that so many people are clearly enjoying the…
@thecrimsonalchemist2: Ah, the wonders of modern LEDs! Very bright light, very low power consumption, run just fine on batteries.
@Lilikka: I think that kind of thoughts among children who grew up without a parent are probably fairly common. Wake's relationship with his father — or, rather, the complete lack of one — is certainly something he didn't get over with in the blink of an eye. Having a few issues of that type of my own, I think I can…
@OuttaTime: Didn't Pesci retire? Actually, if there was a movie, I'd love to see Fred Berman — Barry's voice — play Barry. He doesn't quite have the look, but at least when it comes to voice acting, it doesn't seem to matter what the line is, he always manages to squeeze something great out of it.
