I am, of course, a big BMW homer. But the cars they are killing have competition that’s much better. I’d rather have a Boxster/Cayman than a Z4, and I’d rather have a bunch of other things than an 8 Series / M8, which is really expensive but not that special.

I’m seeing more and more articles like this about how evil the car is and how roads are bad. So maybe in 1,000 years, earth will become a big ecumenopolis, and then we can bitch about how on top of everyone we all are.

Well yes, but also no. Remember that they have no parent company with deep pockets to fall back on. They also got hit with that 1.2 billion Euro fine, and their sales division posted a loss for 2019 - Motorrad and Financial bailed out their sales numbers.

I disagree with you here - they are not saying they CAN’T make a pure EV, just that, as a smaller car company, they have to be as flexible as possible.

Everyone may bash me for this, and of course the Diablo was and still is a true exotic, but the Stealth in Twin Turbo guise certainly isn’t a wall flower next to the Italian. And he quotes the 0-60 times as 4 and 5.5 respectively, not that far apart considering the price gap.

Oh man I hear you on this - you CAN sync them on the new car, but only through iDrive. Otherwise, it behaves like the F30s’.

I just got one of these as a loaner. It drives like...a 3 Series! It’s much stiffer than my F30, and more solid, steering feel is better (not very hard to accomplish from the F30), and the 4 cylinder is much smoother than my old 328 N20. But it isn’t anywhere near as nice as my N55-equipped 335i.

This needs a professional photographer - the images are so dark! And could you wash the bugs off first?  Details matter.
