Have you ever actually tried to hail a cab in Austin? Called to have one dispatched and waited, and waited, and waited, only to have it never show up?

Actually there were all of 7 instances of criminal behavior by Uber/Lyft drivers since they both launched in Austin in 2014. And all seven would not have been prevented by fingerprint based background checks.
OMG this is the absolute truth:
Calling the 2JZ a “fairly reliable engine” is about the most untrue thing you could ever say about it. It’s friggin bullet proof. I don’t say that about almost anything, but that engine truly is.
There’s actually a lot of truth in the argument that money (and hp) will not bring you happiness. I’ve been on both sides of that coin, and while admittedly it’s nice to have money, outside of not worrying about being able to afford the necessities to live, I am not inherently more happy now than I was before.
And that’s why I gave up manual transmissions for automatics, and sold both my bikes. Unless you’re doing track days fairly regularly, they’re just not enjoyable to drive/ride anymore. Everywhere worth living is too crowded now. Perhaps when my kids are a bit older I’ll be able to afford a nice weekend car.
I can vouch for that. :/
Have you actually driven any of the cars you appear to be magazine racing? Because the GT350 is a dream to drive around the track. You want your revs to consistently be in the mid-range or higher on a track.
Man, couldn’t have said it better myself. Any idiot can go fast in a straight line. Just like all the squids you see on R1s who fly by you on a straight, but you pass them on a 40mph curve because they don’t know how to ride a bike at all and aren’t leaning into their turn.
It basically boils down to the MkIV had a bullet proof engine from the factory. You could run up to 800hp (some even pushed closer to 1,000hp) on the stock block with stock internals. Anyone in the car scene already knew about the awesomeness of the MkIV, but F&F is what made the general public aware of it and drove…
Actually, no. That’s one of the legendary qualities about the MkIV Supras — they had bullet proof engines. You could run 800-1,000hp on the stock block and internals. Can’t speak to the tranny, but the engines are goddamn near indestructible. That’s a huge part of the allure that made them so expensive. F&F just made…
My first car was an ‘87 MK3 turbo, manual. It was a blast to drive. Had a ton of fun smoking fox body Mustangs from a stop light. Then the engine threw a rod and wasn’t worth the cost to fix.
Yeah, no. Onus of proof is on you.
Borla catback exhaust fixes that noise issue.
Funny, in Texas most of those raging, douchebag assholes all drive lifted Chevys and Rams.
Slap a Borla catback on it and you’ll love the exhaust note.
Only an idiot would confuse their Raptor with a trophy truck.
Ford has been rocking it for a while. Thank God, cause I suffered through the down days as a Blue Oval guy for a long time.
I have a 2012 F150 FX4 w/ the 5.0 V8 — every day I wish I had gone with the 3.5 EB. Thinking of getting the new Raptor, and I am extremely excited to have the 3.5 EB motor!
I have the 5.0 V8 in my 2012 F150 FX4 and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t wish I had opted for the 3.5 EB.
