I honestly don't understand the hate for Lena. I think her show is entertaining and the characters are like outlandish versions of various people I've encountered in my life. I appreciate that she looks and acts differently than a cookie-cutter actor/human, both on TV and in real life. But even if I didn't regard her

Have you watched the show? Because I think it's pretty clear the Dunham is well aware how whiny, naive, and selfish Hannah can be. "The voice the a generation" scene plays out to make Hannah look absurd, and has been taken totally out of context. It's funny.

I don't love her, but I do think it'll be interesting to see how she translates to live comedy. I think she'll probably do well! And I'm crossing my fingers they do a no black girls on SNL/GIRLS meta-sketch now that they have Sasheer.

What's wrong with playing an asshole version of yourself? Stephen Colbert does it every day. His even shares his real name. Yet, people like Lena, Sarah Silverman and Amy Schumer get blasted for doing the same thing. It's a big gender gap in comedy.

The only thing more predictable than Lena Dunham being asked to host SNL is all the people who love the opportunity to then respond to articles about her to exclaim how much they don't care for her and don't want to be bothered by her presence.

me either. I only pay attention to feminists of color. It's not racist or biased or anything of the sort. Because I said. Oh my bad, did I just become part of the very problem I am trying to combat? Scratches head.

So? Lots of people in TV/movies have created and played characters that say absurd things, yet I can't think of one single instance where someone was held to account for something their character said the way Dunham has been.

Will people ever stop pretending that Dunham has referred to herself as "the voice of a generation"? Because it did not happen.

I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH. Best TV news I have heard in a while! They're so fantastic and gross and real and god they're just everything I need from comedy. Yay!

This sounds weird, but I almost never laugh aloud during tv shows, even if I'm pretty amused. Idk why. This show is the happy, giggly exception. "P***y Weed, in particular, made me lose my damn mind. Please tell me the dentist character will be back next season!

such great news!! This show is so perfect. Like a Bed Bath & Beyond coupon that never expires. ha!

They have such great chemistry together. Honestly, I think I'd enjoy watching a show that's just Seth & Amy Talking.

Amy is Joe Biden to my Leslie Knope. In 2003, touched my arm once and told me to "be a tree." I almost died.

Give Amy a late night show. NOW.

"I had a lapse last week" means accidentally leaving your keys in the fridge after getting groceries, not advocating for 21st century Jim Crow legislation.

These politicians don't give a fuck either way. The only thing they care about is securing votes. They're probably only "changing their minds" now because they realize how the backlash might affect them come election day. Cry me a fucking river.
