You read right... The few that I know who have a history of pro-cheering had other full time jobs, and this was more of a hobby job on the side. The problem is the hours that go into it make it less of a regular hobby, and more of a contracted commitment.

I have a few friends who have been professional level cheerleaders, and this is not the first time I have heard such atrocities. Those women work hard, and deserve to be compensated as such! It's not like the teams can't afford it when they have players who make bazillions of dollars....
