COTD contender when combined with that screenname.

Will HamNo be covering the MMA/WWE/Boxing beat, or TBD?

I think it’s more Gawker trolls coming over here to brag, ugh. Not a fan.

The loop is what gets me about this. It’s not so much “can kick” or “can’t kick.” It’s more that one miss leads to boos which leads to more misses, the spiral down. Well-written, Barry, I like how you went long on performance.

I dunno, a guy who I wouldn’t think would buy into dumb trends tried it for a month and claimed the no-fap powers are real. Yay data point singletons!

Steven Adams complaining about a $60 haircut is pretty awesome as well.

HA! Hey, in her defense, she kind of gets blackmailed into going back to Brooklyn by that obnoxious gossipy lady! But thanks for the laugh.

Oh I’m sure Jason learned a lot from helping Greg Howard. /topical

Ah I had to edit the joke, ha, nm. Basically, the stereotype of the good person who turns into a monster when competing is what I was referring to.

But it’s also possible that Tusup is one of those guys who turns into a complete asshole at competitive events but is decent otherwise. We’ve all had coaches like that, I think.

Niceee. We need more random stories like this on DS comments.

I get that Scott Adams is a jerk, but his old stuff holds up so well if one’s held a job in any mid/large-size company. Dilbert wuz robbed.

That’s fair. I think there’s certainly a case that Player Cobb was racist in a product-of-his-environment way, no doubt. But those pro-Jackie Robinson quotes should count for something too. I don’t feel the book exonerates Cobb from being a jerk, but the ease with which everyone believed Stump’s take on a man who was

No, no, it’s been covered up just like CJK5H. Heh, but seriously, source?

For what little it’s worth, the book also says Cobb was relentlessly bullied by teammates as a rookie, much more than most rookies, because he was called up earlier than most and seemed to be a manager’s favorite. Not saying that excuses the beating of a teammate, but helps give the flavor of the book in giving some

For those of you who work from home, key to sanity/survival?

I don’t mean to “well actually” this, but recently there’s been a revisiting of who Cobb truly was. There’s a good case that “Evil Cobb” was largely made up by his biographer.
