Centers have the same problem as wide receivers. They’re so dependent on the rest of the team to provide them the ball, and yet so physically imposing that it is more likely to seem their fault when things go poorly. Who’s to blame, the skinny 6'2" guard/QB, or the taller than average, super muscular center/wide

That they could pay their rent this month? They may just be THAT desperate, which I think got overlooked in a lot of the writeups.

Yeah, I think in some ways this type of article is a bad idea because it focuses on schools as opposed to “Isolated organizations with few checks and balances” or what not.

I was a teen when it happened, and reading the stories just now made me realize it was even worse than it seemed. Conflicting doctor reports, and also realizing that Lewis wasn’t even playing full-contact when he died. I know people get on Simmons for how he talks about Bias and Lewis’ deaths, but harder to find worse

Yeah, good point, was a little surprised Kevin didn’t name-drop Reggie in article, but maybe he felt it was unfair comparison.

Hmm...it is true that Miami/Riley has a great reputation for taking care of their players post-career. That should be noted somewhere.

I’m enjoying the topical essays, keep up the good work. I think one problem as well with online comments is that they are able to interrupt one’s real life more than before (notifications on phone, etc.) and are much more likely to include rich media. It’s one thing to read “Jia, die in a fire” or what not, it’s

Cincinnati does have an excellent Half-Price Books shop as well, for what it’s worth, and at least two large universities. I think you’ll like it. I spent a year in a Midwest city myself, visiting, and they are underrated.

Any plans to cover the NWSL this season on Screamer? I know, it’s nearly invisible, but it’ll be interesting to see if it can become a sustainable women’s pro soccer league.

Same, made my day to see it mentioned.

Hmm, curious, what did you decide on at 8 years old? No pressure, I just always envy people who got a career vision early in life.

The school where I got my engineering degree had several 30+ students and I learned a lot from them. Good to see some non-trad folks are still going back, best of luck!

I reread one recently, it holds up fairly well! (Except as you said, some stereotyping here and there).

hmm yeah, good point, that’s not good phrasing.

I eagerly look forward to Harry’s list of which Gawker bloggers he could beat up. Heh but cute feature, it’s amusing.

Not sure if you all still do #tips but there’s a larger issue here of Disney ruthlessly cutting costs:

Some of their passes were unbelievable; I’m remembering a pass Stockton threw to Malone in the Finals that sealed the game, almost full-court and on the money. Good one!

90's NBA corner; Tom’s well-written piece on the 90's Pacers made me nostalgic. What’s your favorite team from the 90's that’s rather forgotten today?

Ah, my bad, I just realized I was looking at the 2015-2016 cap figures vs. 2016 expected projections, forgetting that the cap jumps significantly next year. Thanks for fixing that.
