To me it sounds more like a virtuoso slide-whistle performance.

My Dad and his workshop. He was an electrician by trade but a maker by vocation - and a junk collector by extension. His shop was full of tools and components and gadgets and gizmos and bits and pieces. I and my brother had free reign to explore and play with (almost) all of it. And we got to see what he could make

That's just how a good cup of tea makes me look.

Turning itself off when you lift it is actually useful. I have an older kettle that stays on and quite a few times I've put the empty but unboiled kettle back on its base only to have it keep heating.

Or we'll just repackage it on another continent and pretend it's original
