I really don’t like fat-shaming but, after a certain point, you simply can’t concentrate on the video. All you hear is this guy’s breathing and lip-smacking, like some really uncomfortable ASMR video.

Here’s what’s wrong, im my opinion, in almost all of Loewy’s designs: he had a fondness for designs with large, leaning overhangs both front and rear and greater ground clearance than what we’re used to. It gives his designs a comic attribute, like an exaggerated cartoon car.
I think - I’m not sure - that he was…
Sure, if you could call one with an app instead of waiting for one to arrive.
The really important point here is the software that plans the shared routes based on the origin points and destinations of the current users. It’s not a trivial issue.
Do they really think he’s in it for the money? I know people think any problem can be solved by throwing money at it, but at some point, money loses its power as a motivator. To keep Musk aboard you need to present him with an impossible a new challenge that would engage him, not promise him something he has lots…
I’ve been thinking the same thing, either a Suzuki Carry or a Subaru Sumo\Sambar, it’s similar in broad outlines, but the details are all wrong. There are so many almost-but-not-quite identical microvans of this type I’m getting confused.
Solaris or Roadside Picnic?
I’ll start by saying I support your assesment of Garland. I do have an issue with your review, that has nothing to do with Annihilation: you compare itcto 50's schlocky monster movies, and then name-drop Forbidden Planet. In my book, a comparison to Forbidden Planet is the highest form of praise. It’s a sci-fi classic…
The orcs are definitely coded minorities but while some of their traits (such as being the recipients of police brutality) align with the african-american community,. others don’t. Their choice of music can be described as Scandinavian and their background story (accused of something their ancestors did 2000 years…
I remember designing something very similar as a kid, although in my version the basic unit was a sort of roof- covered motorcycle. two could team up to create a small car, and you’d add a couple of side panels to enclose the cabin, and with four you’d have a way to lift/fold some of the wheels so you’d still end up…
Based on my experience as an avid viewer of SpaceX launche, rocket launches have about a one-in-three chance of being cancelled due to weather or a technical glitch. If the BFR has the same rate of launch re-scheduling, I’m not seeing this happening. You want travel to be predictable, and rocket launches just aren’t.
Does it have to be a human though? The power output on a siongle wight seems to be large enough, so maybe we don’t really need a human. What if the night King made something smaller, say wight raccoons? you could probably make a decent flat-four using four of those, and stick them underneath the chassis, Tesla Battery…
Does it have to be *car* racing, though? because Oban Star Racers is by far my favorite race-related anime. It has great race action plus an awesome scifi / space opera plot. If it has any drawback its the total lack of noses on character’s faces, a poor and somewhat offputting stylistic choice. Other than that, and…
So, we need someone with serious cash, not a whole lot of sense, and a tiny little body... is Ross Perot still alive?
Magnetic levitation? total vacuum? this isn’t a hyperloop at all. It’s just the good old vacuum train postulated decades ago. the entire point of the hyperloop system is that you: a. don’t need to create a perfect vacuum and b. suck the remaining air under your pod, creating an air cushion, thereby obviating the…
Wait, the X-Files revival has writers? I thought they were pulling plot points out of a hat for the latest season.
I remember them going on sale and thinking at the time that it looked as if VW got stuck with a bunch of spare parts and had to unload them somehow. This never cought on for a reason - it was butt ugly and still is.
You can’t do this! Using the word “newest novel”, making me think there’s a second CJA novel, and then dashing my hopes. I’ve read All the Birds in the Sky. I want more!
