There are ways of restoring/rebuilding historical architecture that allow them to look like the original and yet integrate foundation and support advancements that can withstand the kind of seismic activity that brought down the original. If they're willing to spend the money. Which it sounds like they are.

I find the one on the right (top picture) to be the most interesting. I'd do it a little different, of course. There are some structural innovations in my head just waiting to burst out.

Wow, Petman has really slimmed down. If that robot had an on board power source and some digital wits he'd be a regular terminator.

So, when can I move in?

This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long while.

The same not so clever response twice? You were more interesting when I dismissed your comments.

Go get yer'self a Hot Mocha triple Frappuccino el Grande.

I thank you kindly. I won't start any more trouble. Only discussions.

Oh, I see. io9 erased all of my comments. That's really petty.

My theory about the kids that didn't care about a mark on their face is that they notice it, but it doesn't change the way they perceive themselves.

What's the deal Esther Inglis-Arkell (respectfully)? You keep erasing my comments. Is this a io9 policy, or did I do something to irk you? If I did, I'd like to know what. That way I can either venture an explanation, or apologize.

I've seen things like this before, but I like this one best.
