This is an obvious one, but in the same roadside memorial episode where he gets mad at the woman at the front of the line for sampling all of the flavors at the ice cream store. Of course, the woman ends up not buying anything. He tells her she’s abusing her sampling privilege. This also makes me see red.

It would help if the writer was clear on whether it was GPS *or* inertial that was being attacked.

Sometimes, I think Disney floats these “oh, [director x] is working on a new SW movie” rumors to take a temperature check on fan reaction.

admittedly niche, but joni mitchell’s shadows and light is an incredible live album/film with an absolutely monster fusion band (pat metheny/lyle mays, jaco, michael brecker, et al)

The start/stop in my wife’s Buick is awful. The instant you hit 0, that engine is cutting out and not starting up for ~1.5 seconds. However, in my Acura, it’s a lot smarter. If you come to a stop, the engine doesn’t cut unless you put hard pressure on the brake, so if you’re just coming to a gentle stop it will stay

My brain is so hardwired into disabling start/stop as soon as I start the car that I completely forgot about that! Given that automakers are supposed to do away with ICE by 2035 what even is the point of start/stop? Maybe if they had come up with it 70 years ago it would have made a tiny difference, but not at the supp

understatement of the century

Yeah wear out that starter and especially the flywheel ring gear. Who pays for repairs to replace that ring gear, the gov? you gonna do that yourself you gotta pull the engine!

I use cruise EVERYWHERE even in 30 mph zones keeps me honest. Sunroofs spring leaks. start/stop WTF? Backup camera mandate. I have no use for any of it.

I’m one of those people who purposefully takes different routes to screw with the GPS, and let me tell you the lane departure warning that tries to steer for you is an absolute JOY because it makes me feel like I’m winning.

Audible warmings annoy me. A gently push back in the right direction I find OK. The cars that yank the wheel suck. And what really sucks are the cars that ping-pong back and forth in the lane. What also sucks are cars where you have it on, but as you learned how to drive correctly you have both hands on the wheel and

Stop/Start has many different implementations. Some suck. Some are brilliant.

The lane departure warnings can be adjusted. I’ll feel a light vibration of the vibration if I’m drifting. I disabled “steering assist” (wheel hijacking).

Agree with lane departure.  My Mazda system is just plain hyper. And it has the added joy of lowering the volume and then alert you. By having the music volume lowered and then louder and then repeat down the road, it sounds like your stereo is broken. Needless to say, on day 2 of ownership, the LDC was turned off and

Lane departure warnings are so distracting. I get that there is a theoretical ideal vehicle in an ideal city where all of the surface markings are perfect and it works flawlessly, but every experience with it has made me loathe the feature.

I’m OK with heated seats and I love cooled seats.  I don’t have anything against cruise control though I almost never use it.  I agree heartily with the rest of your list.

The only thing we ever needed in Brazil is good old AC!

> Lane departure warnings, especially the kind that hijack the wheel.

They came to see our country and its people, and sad to say, they got a good look at one of its recently prominent aspects.
