I just finished watching the show last month. It is definitely a villain of the week show with sprinkles of character development and a few episodes dedicated to moving the plot forward. I love the show, but it definitely had (really good) fluff.

Ryan Wilder may just be placeholder. Who knows? Maybe it will be one of those other characters you mentioned.

I agree with your overall comment, but I’m kinda confused by what you said about Halle Berry. Is it because she’s half black? Is it because of the fact that she’s not from Africa? I don’t get the comparison with Black Panther, seeing as it has American actors, like Chadwick Boseman.
