And aside from essentially ignoring the radiation problem of inter-solar travel, all of the technology is presented very believably at 15 minutes into the future, which is to be expected from a movie where the writers had NASA on speed-dial for consulting.

They keep releasing "Extended Editions" of these Hobbit films, but I'm still waiting for the "Trimmed Down to Just the Material from the Book Edition." Of course, each one would probably be about 40 minutes long then, so maybe they can edit all three movies into one two-hour film when they're finished.

The last box set prior to the special editions getting announced (the THX Remaster) is on Laserdisc. Good luck finding it, tho. I've got a copy. :D

That's largely due to how the system works these days; the "goal" of civil servants is to make enough connections and gain as much information as possible to secure a job as either a consultant of lobbyist when they leave.
