Plex’s transcoding issues are driving me nuts, too. From what I’ve read, it’s based on what the target device can handle, but it’s clearly either misidentifying the client or its list of supported formats is wrong. I wish they’d swallow their pride and allow a FORCE DIRECT PLAY option.

HD Homerun Prime, SiliconDust’s CableCard tuner for cable TV.

it’ll ruin both the comforter and possible the machine”

Because calling attention to it would be anti-Semitic, duh. /s

What gets me is how criticism of AIPAC = criticism of Israel itself for some reason. They’re not the Israeli government or officially tied to them in any way. It’s a legal bribery— er, lobbying venture. (Just like with the Catholic League, which everyone bends over backwards to appease, even though they have nothing

A 2017 poll showed that over half of Republicans would be fine with letting Trump postponing the 2020 election

Yup, they touched on that in her interview in Rolling Stone. She’s in a position where she — as the impetuous, crazy youngster — can safely bring up topics like universal healthcare or universal income. She lets the leadership stay at a distance while getting people talking about the stuff. Her job is to nudge the

Not too surprising, the woman has a law degree from Oxford.

Too bad James Comey didn’t follow that rule.

Warning sirens were going off well before the election. As in, the entire intelligence community, as well as news reports documenting Trump’s weird behavior regarding Russia dating back to the 80s. Obama wanted to go public with it, but Mitch McConnell torpedoed it. Harry Reid is on record writing to James Comey about

This has been specifically addressed by the Supreme Court. Schools can’t force students to recite the pledge. The teacher has no leg to stand on.

The kid’s family’s lawyer needs to hand the school board a copy of the 1943 Supreme Court ruling in West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette. It’s been the settled law of the land for 75 years that the state can’t compel students to recite the pledge. And then sue the ever-loving fuck out of them.

I’ll betcha anything that she’s also “morally” opposed to all contraceptives and sex education, too.

She was talking about AIPAC lobbying dollars, not Israel. Not the same damn thing at all. Like that blowhard Bill Donohue and his “Catholic League” claiming to speak for the Catholic church when his scam group isn’t affiliated with it in any way.

You can always spot the out-of-towners - they tend to pronounce it “may-jer”...

Da Jewels on Kedzie down by dere?

If it’s a family name, it makes perfect sense to use the possessive.

There are three of them here in my town an hour away from Bloomington-Normal, so I grew up with the things. As kids, we would always call it Choke-n-Puke. Which is dumb, because the food is both pretty decent and reasonably priced. *And* they’re open 24 hours, so you can guess why they’re popular in college towns.

The problem is that they’re just as “morally” opposed to any and all sex education and contraception. Y’know, the things that make abortions unnecessary in the first place. They’re not anti-abortion, they’re anti-recreational sex. And evil morons.
