From what I've seen these days, a BA is so devalued that you need a Master's for anything beyond an entry-level position. And prices have shot up so high that you're in for a lifetime of debt if you do stay in. It's nuts.

I'm a translator. For me, at least, *anything* with words has to be strictly avoided. Vocal tracks short circuit the foreign language processing parts of my brain, which is a bad thing. I usually work in silence, so maybe I'll try one of the ambient suggestions below.

Carmack is a carbon-based lifeform. Carbon and stuff goes into technology. Ergo, Carmack *is* technology. Therefore, by going to a new employer, he is transferring technology that belongs to his old employer. Lawyered!

I had bought several games from them before the Bioshock Infinite crapstorm, too. But you judge a company by how they act when things don't go as planned, and in that regard, they failed miserably.

That button takes you to the support page. There is no indication *on* that page of how to contact the support staff for assistance.

Their Bioshock Infinite preorder sale was a clusterfunk of epic proportions, with people not getting their Bioshock codes at all, getting already-registered codes, not getting codes for the bundled games, not receiving the cashback portion of the promo, or a mix of all of the above. The grand total came to around 200

That happened to me with GOG until I switched to using paypal. However, the reason I'll never give GMG another dime is their inability to fulfill their own preorder sales terms, their habit of selling already-registered game codes, and their downright spiteful "help" system. I genuinely hate that business.

Ouch, that was painful. Porco would be a much better fit for Macross Plus, though. Porco as Dyson, Donald Curtis as Guld, Gina as Sharon Apple, Fio as Myung, the Mamma Aiuto gang as the Ghost drone... It would be epic.

That's a whole mess of hats.

If it had been remastered by Volition, that would have been likely.

Wow, I remember playing this game. Dat vector graphics boom of the early '80s... This, Star Trek, Star Wars, Battle Zone, Tail Gunner, Red Baron, Asteroids, Tempest,Lunar Lander, Star Castle, ad infinitum... They were a refreshing change from color graphics back when pixels were the size of cats.

I have a (non-networked) machine running XP because I have an expensive video capture card that doesn't have drivers for Win7 or 8. Lots of businesses are in the same boat - they have custom hardware or software that tethers them to the older OS.

Self-rising flour has salt in it.

Pretty similar to this cream biscuit recipe that I've been using lately -

Then you should try the Luftwaffles and Panzercakes at the Batter of the Bulge pancake house. They're to "the" for.

PC game magazines had crazy gag ads from an outfit called Schadenfreude Interactive in the early aughts that were like this. Steelhead Battalion (with dual fishing rod controller), Accordion Hero, Cthulhu Karts, Nazgul Thunder ("They have 9 horses. You have 700."), Hannibal Crossing, Grand Theft Ottoman, etc.

Plus, it's not going to work with basic cable anymore, since even that is encrypted now.

I clung to expanded cable for the longest time, but the content became so crappified that they made it easy to downsize. I now have Comcast's $13-ish bare-bones tier, but even that is encrypted, the jerks. If I lived anywhere near the broadcast towers for the main networks, I'd drop even that in a heartbeat. That +

Totally. You can bet that there are absolutely no birds or small animals on this island, because the cats have hunted them all to death. They may be cute and fuzzy, but they are homicidal little bastards.
